Sebastián Muriel Herrero is Director General of red.es, a public business entity which belongs to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and for the Information Society (SETSI), with the mission of promoting the Internet society in our country. He is a member of the FUNDETEC Foundation and the EOI Business School. He is also Executive Vice-president of INTECO and CENATIC and President of the XBRL Association Spain.

Previously Sebastián Muriel’s career had been linked to information and communications technologies (ICTs) in the private sector. He began with Hewlett Packard; then he worked for Lucent Technologies and then before joining red.ed was part of a strategic and business consultancy at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
