Secretary of State for Education and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education.

Born in 1960 in Esplús (Huesca), Eva Almunia has held several positions in the Provincial Council of Huesca and as been a municipal Counselor in Esplús as well as in the city of Huesca. In 2001 she was named Advisor for Education and Science to the Autonomous Government of Aragon, where she was also its Advisor for Education, Culture and Sport. This last year she has held the position of Secretary of State for Education and Training at the Ministry of Education. Presentation

Eva Almunia, Secretary of State for Education and Vocational Training, presented some of the details of the program Escuela 2.0 (School 2.0). According to Almunia, it is an “innovative programme for ICT integration”. The aim of the programme is to make ICT a permanent educational tool, as the true potential of ICT is their capacity for interaction and shared construction of knowledge. The Secretary of State announced that 400,000 students will have access to a computer by the end of the present school year.
