Jordi Adell

Director of the Centre for Education and New Technologies (CENT) at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón.

Jordi Adell Segura has a degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences and a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the University of Valencia. At present he is a university lecturer in the area of Didactics and Student Organization in the Education Department at the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón.

His teaching activity is related to the new information and communication technologies applied to education in teaching diploma courses and the degree in Psychopedagogy. He also directs the Centre for Education and New Technologies (CENT) at the same university, a centre which is dedicated to improving quality in university teaching and learning using the new technologies.

Jordi Adell from the Jaume I University in Castellón, explained the many concepts related to technologies and the clichés associated with them. Terms like digital natives and immigrants were explained more precisely by Adell, who rejected maximalisms with respect to ICT integration. In his opinion, the future will be more mobile, more social and more cooperative. In this sense learning “is synonymous with creating and sharing, being part of educational networks”; concepts which form part of the new means of evaluation which are already being implemented.
