As a result of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, the Congress "Models of ICT Integration in Education/Modelos de Integración de las TIC en education" was held in Madrid from 16th to 18th March. The Congress was opened by the Minister of Education, Angel Gabilondo, accompanied by the Director of the Institute for Educational Technologies, Antonio Pérez and Jordi Curell, Life Long Learning Director from the Directorate General for Education at the European Commission.

The discussions among the participants represented an extraordinary contribution to future cooperation in the field of education and teacher training. The Congress offered all the delegates the opportunity to engage in active dialogue.

The most important aspects covered in this meeting were the interchange of points of view and good practices, as well as the development of common recommendations for educational design and future implantation of ITCs in education.
